and the two parts of my heart that live outside my body

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Lissa — single mom, storyteller, and glitter-wrangler. I’m an aspiring type A, but in reality you’ll join me in a mix of messy kitchen tables, half-finished craft projects, and big heart conversations.

Motherhood continues to remind me that life, at it’s best, is equal parts magic and mayhem. Most days are filled with giggles and a childlike imagination, working in a job I love, raising a strong-willed girl and a new little guy, and leaning into the chaos while juggling wild ideas for a new project or craft! The other days… well, let’s just say I’ve cried over spilled glitter more than once - living in a highly sensitive body, raising a highly sensitive kid and welcoming a new soul into our duo as of July 2025 - the weight of single motherhood in a world that is a bit broken right now definitely has it’s heavy moments! Through it all, willing the smiles or silly expressions to fill our faces and our days, I know that the smallest, everyday experiences often hold the deepest meaning.

This space is my way of capturing those moments and seeking to memorialize their meaning — for my children to one day look back on, and for anyone else who craves more than just surface-level conversation.

I hope you will find as you journey alongside us:

✨ Honest stories about motherhood, love, loss, challenge and growth
✨ Inspired art that my inner-child longs to share
✨ Simple, soul-filling creative projects (with kids or in secret with the good markers)
✨ Gentle reminders to slow down and notice the wonder hiding in everyday life

I don’t have all the answers — but I do have tape, too many notebooks, and a desire to share the power of stories, creating, and connecting with each other!

So, grab your favorite mug (or your kid’s leftover juice box — no judgment), and make yourself at home. I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s laugh, create, and rediscover the magic in this wonderfully messy life together!
